WebAug 9, 2024 · This is because NMM is known to have problems leaving files behind in your data folder when you try and uninstall mods. Then choose a different mod manager, either Vortex or MO2. After that I would start by installing a few mods at a time, play for a bit, then install a few more. WebOh well in that case my install is definitely portable. Seems to be an ini issue though - I can run the game through Steam and get into the opening cinematic, but as soon as I add the recommended lines to fallout4custom.ini, whether it's running through MO or directly through Steam, it crashes as it tries to load the new game.
