WebBiomedical engineering was officially founded as a department in 2006, but traces its beginnings to 1971 as a center within the Department of Electrical Engineering focused on interdisciplinary research and graduate education. The total number of biomedical faculty has grown to 32, with over 50 affiliated graduate faculty.

WebThe Department of Pharmacology and Physiology is dedicated to teaching and research, as well as service and outreach for OSU and the community. Faculty research interests include: Acetylcholine Pharmacology Depression and eating disorders Pain and substance abuse Estrogens and the central nervous system Morgellons Disease Neuroinflammation WebThese research areas combined with our innovative approach integrate synergistically to move forward our understanding of how sub-cellular organization emerges and impacts cell physiology and pathology.
